I’m Alexis Rios, a passionate Licensed and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (LD, RDN) and steward of the land. I’m here to guide you to non-restrictive eating and recovery from the harmful effects of diet culture, where you can leave behind habits like counting calories, food guilt, and boring food, and instead learn to trust your body’s intuition. I will support you throughout this process and help you build the foundation for a life-long, nourishing relationship with food and your body.
I became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in May 2023 after completing both a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics at Kent State University, and an internship through Bowling Green State University. The science of nutrition is very broad (because every aspect of life is intertwined with food!) and it’s important to consider both what we eat and why we eat. On a personal note, I enjoy cooking, especially soup, and when I’m not hard at work you’ll find me out in the garden or curled up with a blanket listening to the Outlander series on audiobook.
Prior to pursuing a degree in nutrition, I became a Certified Culinarian from Cuyahoga Community College and spent several years working as a chef around Cleveland. My background in culinary has paved my interest in nutrition and I started to feel more interested in why people eat the way they do, and how certain dietary patterns can be more healthful than others. I learned to love food from a young age, watching cooking shows with my dad and making recipes for family dinner. At the end of the day, no matter how busy our family was, we always sat down for dinner together, and I greatly cherish those childhood meals.
