Background

I started my work in health & wellness in the fitness space. As much as I loved personal training, over the years I observed so many of my clients fall short of their fat loss goals over and over. I knew nutrition was the missing piece and after a few books and certifications, I decided to go to graduate school so I could truly be informed. This shift and being on both sides (fitness and nutrition) gives me a very unique perspective as a Registered Dietitian.

As a dietitian I have worked both inpatient and outpatient, from the ICU to leading group classes on healthy eating and weight loss techniques. I absolutely love to educate but also getting into the details of the day to day with my clients. HOW are we going to ensure that healthy lunch appears at 2pm? I have worked with clients with a wide variety of medical backgrounds such as gastrointestinal issues (IBS/IBD), diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, liver disorders, bariatrics and obesity. I have worked alongside endocrinologists and patients utilizing various weight loss medications.

I hold the Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietitians. I decided to specialize in weight loss because not only are almost 80% of Americans struggling with obesity or overweight but I know that so many of the common co-morbidities are also weight related.

I strongly believe in everyone’s ability to make profound changes in their lives with nutrition and I’m excited to work with you!

Approach

"When I work with my clients I always aim to consider their whole picture. Each person is unique and their lives will help dictate how we get to their personal health and nutrition goals. Food preferences, cooking skills, time limitations, culture, medical history and so much more are accounted for. I combine education, counseling and collective goal setting to help people create healthy habits around nutrition that they maintain for the long run. I provide empathy as well as accountability! "
