My story begins as a child with obesity. After struggling with obesity much of my life, I tried and failed many times to sustain long term weight loss using traditional methods. I finally chose bariatric surgery to pursue a healthier life.
I was later awarded my degree in nutrition and became a registered dietitian. Learning more about the disease of obesity increased my desire to work with patients with obesity. I have a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management which increased my ability to help others obtain a healthier life. I’ve worked as a bariatric dietitian helping people with obesity obtain and sustain a healthier weight, and working to control obesity related conditions, for the past several years.
My perfect client is the person desiring to control obesity through lifestyle and nutrition changes, using weight loss medications or choosing to pursue bariatric surgery. I assist clients develop new habits and develop goals to obtain lifestyle and nutrition changes that can be sustained for life. Lifestyle changes are needed not matter how weight loss is accomplished.
I feel most accomplished when a client tells me they feel better and successful with the ability to do things they haven’t done in years.
I am available and encourage long term nutrition support to assure clients retain successful habits, and develop new goals as they move through life.
