My name is Mia, and as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) for going on 10 years, I offer a wealth of knowledge at your disposal shaped by my WIDE variety of experiences! 

After earning a Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, and a Master’s of Science in Nutrition from Texas Tech University, my love for prenatal and pediatric populations led me to Women's, Infants, and Children's (WIC). I absolutely loved the variety in demographics and age-related needs of clients! However, soon found a different calling working with Bariatric and Weight Management patients. Working for two phenomenal surgeons who went on to have their own airtime on TLC, Obesity Med; I gained the opportunity to work in depth for over 2 years with patients undergoing Sleeve Gastrectomy’s,  Single Anastomosis Duodenoileostomy with Sleeve Gastrectomy (SADI-S) or Duodenal Switch and previous RYGB revisions. 

When working with Bariatric patients I strive to provide nutrition education and lifestyle modifications before and after surgery that are relevant and applicable to each patient's individual life and schedule! I am also a strong believer in the continuity of care, so aim to provide longevity in close monitoring for a year or more after surgery, and previously specialized in using bioelectrical impedance analysis to properly analyze body composition and tailor caloric intake, macro- and micronutrient recommendations to best meet a patient's goals! 

For patient's endeavoring of non-surgical weight loss and weight management, my joy comes from working with patients to help identify their top goals and then strive to provide them with the knowledge and tools to attain their goals in a healthy, long-lasting manner! I have a certificate in Adult Weight Management and have been trained in hormone replacement therapy with have a deep passion for guiding patients with lifestyle, behavioral, and nutrition choices that help optimize their hormonal health! 

After making a big move to South Florida, I endeavored on the health and care of patients in an acute care setting at the Cleveland Clinic! Therefore, I am proficient in working with patients with many comorbidities which include, but not limited to: Diabetes Management (Type 1 and Type 2), chronic kidney disease (Stage1-5), ESRD on Hemodialysis, Hyperlipidemia, NASH, Hypertension, Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, IBS, Colon cancer, Small Bowel Obstructions (proficient in colostomy and ileostomy nutrition management), and many more! From this experience I am also able to provide in-depth clinical nutrition direction for support in Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and Enteral Nutrition (PEG tubes, J-tubes, G-tubes).

After the pandemic, I began working as a travel Clinical Dietitian, traveling to New York then Guam. Therefore, I am well versed and able to adapt to most any cultural cuisine needs presented! 

Along with my expertise in nutrition, I am also a Registered Nurse after completing my Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) this year! 

I live by "knowledge is power!" So as an expert in the field of nutrition and dietetics it is my honor and great joy to empower each individual patient by giving them the knowledge necessary to reach their personal nutrition goals!!!
