I have been asked throughout my career why I became a registered dietitian. I found my love for nutrition when I was in college. I found the connection between food and health very intriguing.During my third year of college I received a call that my father was in the hospital and need emergency heart surgery. Years later both my father and my brother ended up on dialysis with kidney disease. I knew right then, this was my passion. I have been a registered dietitian with a focus on end stage renal disease . Along with end stage renal disease, I have worked with patients who have multiple comorbidities such as heart, liver, bone disease, diabetes, weight management and more. Why do I continue to love my job as a registered dietitian? I realize that people are paying more attention to what they are eating, where their food is coming from and how it plays a critical role in health. My goal is to continue to help people live a happier and healthier live.
I've always had a longstanding love for food and nutrition. Since working as a dietitian, I have learned through motivational interviewing that a dietitian can have a positive impact on peoples lives. I am passionate about applying my experience to create a sense of well being for others. I truly practice what I preach!!
