Did you know that the word diet means manner of living from Latin and Greek origins? Or how we choose to live our lives? Regarding nutrition counseling, our desires and often expectations are to make changes needed overtime to promote health and well-being. Some changes may also change the trajectory of disease. My ideal client would also believe that small but necessary changes, no matter how difficult, are worth the effort to achieve greater degrees of health over time. I have made it my goal to help people with various nutrition and medical concerns. I focus on general nutrition to promote longevity, reduce chronic disease burden, and address chronic illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure. I am a bariatric surgical and nutrition professional and also currently practice in internal medicine using advanced nutrition therapy to augment chronic disease. My 24-year career as a registered dietitian (RD), physician associate (PA), and doctor of medical science (DMS) gives a thorough background to understand your health history and nutrition goals. So now you know I am a nerd, but I am most blessed being a husband of 21 years and father of 3. I became a dietitian because my family owned natural foods markets, and I grew up studying alternative and complementary medicine. I always thought nutrition was one of the key components missing in our society, needed to change the nation's health one person at a time. I welcome you to partner with me and work towards optimal health and well-being.
