Diurka Sotomayor (Dee) is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Nutritionist with ample experience in Chronic Diseases and Sport Nutrition. Dee has been working for more than 14 years with clients of multiple backgrounds and conditions to achieve their nutrition goals. She loves to stay informed about the latest scientific studies and applies all that knowledge to her program. Dee obtained her Bachelor of Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University. Then she moved to Virginia where she started to work with renal patients at a Dialysis clinic. However, it was in California where she obtained her Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and worked for 6 years with the Ventura County Health Department at its Diabetes clinic. At the same time, she became the Nutrition Coordinator of her Cross-Fit Gym ,Persistence Culture, where she helped athletes achieve their fitness goals and improve their performance. She is fluent in English and Spanish and is passionate to help people unlock the power of good nutrition. Now she started her own private practice, but she is still working at her local hospital (CMH) and writes nutrition articles at "EL Latino", bilingual newspaper in Los Angeles, California.
