I am a clinical dietitian with 14 years of experience in the field. I describe myself as a well-rounded dietitian because I've worked in most clinical environments from a rural six bed hospital to a major multi-specialty hospital. Along the way, I discovered my passion for nutritional counseling. I’ve spent the last three years focusing on mental health and eating disorders.
My preferred counseling style is motivational interviewing as it provides an open, collaborative relationship. I also utilize DBT when focusing on coping skills and HAES when exploring body image and weight loss.
While studying at St. John’s University, I wanted a major that I could apply to my own life. I remember opening my nutrition textbook for the first time in the library to read an assigned chapter and ended up reading three due to pure fascination. I’m also an endurance athlete that uses nutrition as a performance aide. I find the nutrition field quite rewarding, especially in the context of nutrition counseling and helping my clients achieve their goals.
Outside of work, I love to be active outdoors (biking, skiing), taking my golden retriever for a walk and playing with my three kids. Let's chat!
I have a client centered approach that focuses on building rapport and establishing trust. From there---you're the driver picking the tunes, while I navigate and sing along.
