For as long as I can remember, my greatest passion in life has been food- how it’s produced and prepared, how it affects our bodies, and how what we eat impacts the planet. My combined interests in cooking and health inspired me to pursue a degree in Clinical Nutrition at the University of California, Davis. Upon my graduation, I completed my dietetic internship in Cape Cod, Massachusetts before returning to California. Since becoming a dietitian, I have worked with individuals with eating disorders and in non-profit settings providing nutrition resources and education to underserved communities. In my free time, I love to run, cook (especially making homemade hummus and sourdough bread!), hike, and practice yoga. As your dietitian, I will be there to listen and support you through your journey towards finding joy, peace and healing through food. After I get to know you and your individual needs and challenges, we will work together to set and achieve realistic goals that support your overall health and wellbeing.
"My name is Alana and I believe that fueling our bodies should be joyful and delicious. Nutrition is about providing our bodies with the nourishment they need and appreciating them for all of the incredible things that they allow us to do. My goal as a dietitian is to help all of my clients develop sustainable eating practices that support their long-term health while taking their unique lifestyle, preferences, and food resources into account."
