Welcome!
About Andy
Andy is a dietitian with over 13 years of experience. She received her BS and MS in Nutrition Science from the University of Minnesota, where she was also a member of the Women’s Gymnastics Team as an undergraduate.
Her interest in dietetics began due to her career as an athlete, but has continued due to her love of science, research and helping people achieve their health goals in a realistic, sustainable manner.
Experience
Andy was previously employed by a medically supervised weight loss program for 8 years, and aided hundreds of clients with weight loss and maintenance. She enjoyed the relationships she built with her clients, but ultimately felt that she didn’t want to focus her entire practice around weight loss.
Andy began her own private practice in 2020 after her twins were born, and refocused her services around helping ex-dieters improve their relationships with food, and re-learning healthy eating without the barriers of diet culture. She continues to work with clients with everything from IBS & GI disorders, low FODMAP diets, food allergies, to healthy eating on a budget.
Philosophy
She believes that food is meant to both nourish the body physically and emotionally. She believes that you cannot judge health status by body weight, the best type of exercise is the type you enjoy, and that life is too short to eat foods you don’t like.
Andy has an upbeat demeanor, and uses a non-judgmental, supportive, tailored approach to helping each of her clients. She will also use up to date, evidence-based practices in all of her recommendations to her clients.
When Andy is not working with clients, you can find her playing with her 5-year-old twins, trying a new restaurant, walking her dog, Ralph, or debunking a nutrition myth or two on social media.
