It is really no surprise that I chose a career path that revolved around food. I grew up in a big, Italian family where food was at the center of all of our gatherings. The food was always amazing but what I truly relished were the people sitting around the table for hours sharing stories and traditions. Our household was also a very active household. My brother and I both grew up playing a variety of sports. I loved the competitive nature of sports as well as the physical and psychological benefits I would obtain from the exercise. When it was time to decide on a major course of study in college, it seemed like a natural choice to combine my love of food and wellness and pursue the field of dietetics.
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from The University of Florida and my Master’s of Science degree from The University of Georgia. I have been a practicing Registered Dietitian for 13 years and I have had the privilege of a very diverse career; I have worked as a Clinical Dietitian, Research Dietitian, Outpatient Dietitian and Adjunct Professor. My goal as a Dietitian is to provide my clients with the tools and guidance necessary to live their most healthy, fulfilling lives.
I have been married to my college sweetheart for 14 years and we have two sons that fill our lives with the best kind of chaos. In my time that I can squeak away from mom and dietitian duties, I enjoy practicing yoga, riding my Peloton, paddleboarding, reading a good murder mystery and traveling.
