Background

You can do this. I can help. And wherever you are on your health journey, that’s where I’ll meet you. What’s most important to me is what’s important to you. Change takes time, patience, and self-compassion. My goal is to get you back to the intrinsic relationship you had with food before the world got in the way. I’ll leverage my formal training and lived experience to be the partner in health you’re looking for. I focus on what we can add to your diet to ensure balance, real satisfaction, and adequate nourishment. I specialize in trauma-informed nutrition support for neurodivergence, disordered eating, cancer, and cardiac and pulmonary rehab. I’ve personally recovered from an eating disorder stemming from undiagnosed ADHD and PTSD, and have learned how to eat and live well alongside all of these things. I have over four years experience working specifically with elder clients (65+) and have a passion for utilizing nutrition to help aging folks stay as active and independent as possible, for as long as possible. I know the importance of honoring cultural and class context in order to come up with real world, accessible approaches that actually fit my clients’ lives. If I’m judging my client, I’ve failed. Shame has no place in my practice. I maintain a weight inclusive Health at Every Size (HAES) approach informed by decades of research, with the goal of body acceptance and food neutrality. I pride myself on being a safe practitioner for folks struggling with addiction and mental illness. Whether we’re meeting just once or starting an ongoing collaboration, I am committed to understanding you and helping you understand your own needs and strengths. I welcome skepticism and with my research background I’m more than happy to provide detailed explanations to your health questions, including reviewing studies and popular media. At the end of each session we’ll set short-term goals and a plan for how to track progress. Each of our habits serves a behavioral purpose in our life, whether we’re aware of it or not. Together we can identify the nutrition habits that do and do not support your health goals, and come up with sustainable substitutions for those you’d like to leave behind. Goals are great, but a plan is better. After a decade of practice, I know the best part of my job is the relationships I build with my clients. They usually describe me as knowledgeable, creative, compassionate, funny and open. My ideal client is curious, wants to try something different, respects evidence, and is ready to trust themselves.
