From sessions, you can expect to walk away with a baseline knowledge of nutrition. I want you to feel empowered to walk in the grocery store or go out to eat and make the best food choices for you. We will discuss the varying food groups and take a look at your current eating habits and make small changes here or there depending on your goals. Follow ups are key to success as there is no such thing as perfect eating. My check in sessions will offer the reset you might need or the encouragement and pat on the back for a job well done. We will continue to move forward in setting achievable goals as there is always room for improvement. My passion lies in women’s health and performance nutrition. There are a variety of stages of life a woman has to go through and I want to be there to help and support women at each stage. Whether it is PCOS, menopause or post-pregnancy weight loss, I will find the right balance of foods to support your body’s needs. Performance nutrition is an up and coming field and having played college basketball, I know the demands on the body mentally and physically. The increased nutritional needs along with hydration are important aspects of recovery that should not be overlooked. I enjoy finding the macro and micronutrient needs for my clients and how to help them fuel through marathons, sporting events, weight lifting, CrossFit etc. I have interned with Duke Athletics and know what it takes to fuel a top level program.
I currently have 1 year of professional experience in outpatient private practice and 2 years of experience through my internship. My internship consisted of a clinical hospital setting, community outreach/corporate wellness and Duke University Athletics. I am in the process of completing my Master’s in Exercise Science and Wellness and have recently obtained a Health and Wellness Coach Certification.
I am an outgoing individual who absolutely loves food and sharing that passion with those around me. I enjoy finding commonalities with clients and connecting over hobbies, similarities and differences. I love exercise and am currently a part of a CrossFit gym. I have also run a 10k race and a Spartan 10k race. I use my personal experiences to help relate and engage with my clients. I love the outdoors and am a big foodie (shocking) so trying new restaurants or recipes is always on my agenda.
I became a dietitian to be on the preventative side of chronic disease that plagues the United States. I want to bring awareness to the incredible healing powers of food and what it does for our bodies. With a family history of chronic disease, I wanted to learn for myself what I can do to stay on top of my health in all aspects; physically, mentally and emotionally. My driving motivation is to look at all areas of your life and help encourage and brainstorm how I can help you be the best version of yourself!
