I have been a Registered dietitian and diabetes educator for over a decade working with a wide variety of people in both hospitals and private practice. My journey in dietetics started in high school where I struggled with being overweight and was stuck in a binge eating cycle. I went to Clemson University for college and was finally able to learn how our bodies use food which helped me repair my own unhealthy relationship with food. I finally understood the power of making small, realistic changes vs trying to change everything overnight.
I am able to relate and help my clients identify not only what they desire to change, but how they can build small habits into a greater whole. I want to a create a safe place for people to feel heard about their health concerns. I often have people come to me feeling frustrated about the lack of compassion they experienced with the medical field.
Whether you are newly diagnosed with diabetes, struggling with PCOS, or disordered eating habits I want you to know that I am hear to listen to what your goals are and help you get there. I try to stay light hearted and have a sense of humor. However, I’ve seen more than my share of tears shed in sessions and I’m happy to meet you where you re at and help build you back up. Because more often than not, it’s not about the food at all.
I look forward to meeting you!
