Congratulations on making the first step towards meaningful change, and thank you so much for considering me to be your guide through this journey. This decision is arguably one of the most important, so to help you feel confident in and comfortable with your choice, I will tell you a bit about myself! Some fun things first:
- I grew up in the suburbs of New Orleans, and this heavily influenced my love for food!
- I am one of four children, but I am the only girl.
- I have five nieces and nephews that I adore.
- My fiancé and I have collectively rescued five pups which some say is too many but we (I) feel is just right!
- I’m a former LSU Tiger—and still a big fan.
- Christmas is my favorite time of the year; I just wish it didn’t go by so quickly!
On a more professional note, I obtained my Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in 2019. Immediately following, I began my year-long dietetic internship at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana. During this time, I was dual enrolled in one of The University of Southern Mississippi’s online graduate program. I officially became a dietitian in 2021, and I began my career in the research realm. About six months into practicing, I graduated from USM with a Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Systems. I have now been a dietitian for four years, but my calling to this profession began long before. As I reflect now, with the clarity only hindsight can provide, I am able to plainly identify countless pivotal moments--each having to occur before the next could take place, some not without their challenges. These seemingly meaningless snippets of time, and how I found my way through them, built and defined my character--allowing me to find true passion in a field that not only aligns with my professional goals and aspirations, but with my beliefs, values, perceptions and advocations. I am eager to finally apply my knowledge, experience and personal insights to aid those who, like myself, are longing to heal from various nutrition-related health conditions--including those yet to be diagnosed.
I hope to meet you soon!
