As a registered dietitian working in weight loss for over 10 years, I have seen how restrictive diets can work for short term weight loss, but they usually lead to regain, mounting feelings of defeat and hopelessness, and can actually diminish health. My expertise includes finding what it takes to achieve long lasting weight loss and true health.
Together we will explore the current habits and behaviors that are holding you back from achieving long term health goals. We will explore why they exist, and then work on changing those habits and behaviors to ones that feel good and improve your health.
Along with being a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s Degree in Public Health, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, am a Certified Dietitian Nutrition Coach, worked in Eating Disorders for 4 years, and have done extensive training in Intuitive and Mindful Eating and Motivational Interviewing. I have also spent the past 5 years focused on healing my nervous system and have come to have a deep understanding of the role our nervous systems play in our life experience.
When you chose to work with me, there will be no calorie counting, restrictive meal plans, or extreme exercise regimens. Instead we will discuss food as a source of nourishment, not as the enemy, and explore the role that sleep, stress, and blood sugar play. Think of me as your nutrition and lifestyle coach. I am here to shine light on sticky areas that may have been hidden for years, create new health habits, and help you learn to believe in yourself and discover what you are truly capable of.
A little about me:
I knew from the time I was young that I wanted a career in helping people be happy. At the time I had no idea what modality that would take, but I now see that true happiness is found in the small choices we make each day that end up creating the life we want. I have built my private practice, Dana Lynn Wellness, to help people do just that.
In addition to my work as a dietitian, I am a mom of 2 boys and a rescue pup, and a wife to a scientist. I love spending time in nature, doing yoga, and having deep conversations with people who help calm my nervous system. I am also a bonified Momsicle (a mom who spends most of her time freezing in ice rinks) as both my boys are in travel hockey, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I want to help you heal your relationship with food and yourself, and help you build a lifestyle that nourishes your body, mind, and soul.
Are you ready to create the life you’ve been dreaming of? Let’s do it!
