I am trained to comprehensively assess your nutritional health and will help you implement the appropriate medical nutrition therapy--starting with 3-4 self-set goals--that will empower you to manage your condition or disease.
My experience in writing The A-Z Guide to Food as Medicine books has helped me to leverage Mediterranean Diet basics that help patients improve their diet and lifestyle.
My ideal client is someone who recognizes that little changes add up to produce meaningful health benefits.
My specializations include:
• clinical nutrition knowledge: I have been a GI, liver transplant, chronic kidney disease, and osteoporosis specialist dietitian for a minimum of 2 years in each discipline, and have earned certificates of training in pediatric and adult weight management and malnutrition. Having taught clinical nutrition education in colleges and schools of nursing for more than 15 years, in 2025 I will complete my DCN (doctoral in clinical nutrition) degree from The University of North FL—the highest degree attainable for a nutrition practitioner.
• nutrition education: Honoring your learning style and meeting you where you are in terms of your diet and health journey, I have the knowledge base to accurately advise you on medical nutrition therapy that takes your age, medications, diet and weight history, and health into consideration….cooking, shopping, and eating on the go are among my favorite subjects, and I have been a food blogger who has written on health topics such as physical activity and sleep benefits, carbohydrate counting, weight management, and various aspects of child nutritional health.
• dietary supplement expertise: as a former clinical research manager at a leading dietary supplement company, I am expert in the judicious use of dietary supplements to both correct and prevent deficiencies.
