Background

Change doesn’t happen overnight. I like to think that we are all a work in progress, including myself. I love being able to see people meet their nutrition and health goals. I educate them on how they can improve their diet and health, and together we figure out how they will achieve short-term and long-term goals.

I have a special interest in renal nutrition and nephrology because my grandfather was on dialysis in the 1980’s. At that time, I was a child and didn’t realize how difficult it must have been for him.  An estimated 1 in 7 adults in the U.S. has chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the two most common causes are diabetes and hypertension.  With any of these, diet is such an important factor and can really impact someone’s success and longevity, and improve quality of life.

The best part about my job is helping other people. I have worked as a Registered Dietitian for 20+ years in various settings. I graduated with a B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2002, and then earned a Master’s degree in Dietetics in 2008. I received health coach training in 2016 and became a certified specialist in renal nutrition (CSR) in 2021.

When I am not talking about food and diet, there’s a good chance you will find me grocery shopping or cooking for my family. I am a boy mom, with two teenage boys, and they are always hungry. I also like to travel and experience local culture and food.  And during the winter months of Wisconsin, I love a good arts and craft project.
