I always knew I wanted to find a career where I could help people. After high school, it seemed my path was to become a high school history teacher. It took time, but I found my way to the nutrition field, as it seemed all areas of my life were pointing in that direction at the time. I have always maintained that although my major and projected career changed course, my love of educating others has always been at the forefront of my career.
I became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2019 after obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I immediately began working at a small community hospital in Chicago, which despite its size, had an incredible and advanced nutrition department. I spent 2 years there, working in the hospital and with patients in the outpatient clinic. It was there I solidified my love for working with people to reach their goals. After moving to Florida, I continued my work in the hospital setting, providing nutrition care to patients admitted to our oncology unit and to those admitted to our obstetric units during pregnancy and post-partum. These years have provided me with extensive knowledge, understanding, and passion for these areas of nutrition.
The one component that has always been lacking for me in the hospital setting is the ability to create lasting connections and continuity with my patients. I have been craving that continuity and am excited to build my private practice to begin working with clients on a continual basis.
All of my client interactions begin with a cheery demeanor and positivity. I maintain a client-based approach in all my sessions. Clients can expect to feel heard and have personalized nutrition plans formulated for them based on where they are now, helping to get them to where they would like to be. My main areas of focus as a dietitian include intuitive eating, forming a healthy relationship with food, creating a sustainable lifestyle, and helping to prevent and manage chronic diseases. I have experience in working with weight loss, gastrointestinal chronic diseases, cardiac health, diabetes, oncology, and women’s health, to name a few.
Nutrition may be my career, but it’s one of my passions as well. I am always the one in any group talking about the delicious, new recipe I made over the weekend, and of course, sharing the recipe with anyone who will take it! When I’m not in the kitchen, or working, I can be found spending time with my family, strolling along the beach, or curling up with a good book. You can also always count on me for some puns, especially if they’re food related! I’m berry excited to begin working with you!
