Fatima Ellahi, RD

My name is Fatima Ellahi and I am the founder of Dietitians of Texas. My love for science and belief in food as preventive medicine inspired me to pursue private practice, where I could educate and empower others to take control of their health. I specialize in PCOS, weight management and Diabetes. Having struggled with PCOS myself, I became passionate about the role of nutrition in managing this condition and improving symptoms like infertility. I also observed that most online nutrition content tends to focus on a single type of cuisine, neglecting dietary diversity. With my South Asian background, I recognized a significant gap in nutrition education for South Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines. My approach is to provide tailored dietary advice that respects and incorporates individual cultural preferences.

I completed my B.S. in nutrition at the University of Houston and my M.S. and dietetic internship at Texas Woman’s University. I have a certificate in training for obesity and weight management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and am a certified nutrition support clinician. I have experience in a variety of settings such as a nationally ranked hospital system, long term care facilities, and private practice.
