With a Doctorate in Public Health specializing in Nutrition, I am a registered dietitian with a deep passion for fostering healthier communities through education, research, and clinical practice. My academic journey includes a Master’s and Bachelor’s in nutrition and dietetics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where I also served as a faculty member, mentor, and program director. My professional foundation was strengthened through a comprehensive dietetic internship where I completed rigorous training in clinical nutrition and food service management at USC University Hospital in Los Angeles. This hands-on experience shaped my expertise in patient care, medical nutrition therapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
I have over a decade of experience in nutrition counseling in outpatient setting, specializing in medical nutrition therapy of chronic diseases as well as mental health-based nutrition complications including disordered eating and eating disorders. My roles have ranged from lead dietitian at treatment centers to private practice, where I provide evidence-based nutrition counseling for individuals as well as educating the family members and loved ones on how to provide support for the client. I have extensive experience working with individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and educational backgrounds, tailoring my approach to meet each person’s unique needs. Whether working with children, adolescents, adults, or older adults, I strive to provide culturally competent, inclusive, and accessible nutrition care that respects diverse lifestyles, traditions, and health goals. My academic involvement spans from lecturing at universities to conducting research on dietary patterns and metabolic health and inflammatory conditions.
I believe in the power of having a holistic, mindful, and practical approach to nutrition, integrating scientific evidence with warm and compassionate counseling. Whether in research, clinical practice, or teaching, my goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to cultivate a healthy and intuitive relationship with food and their bodies.
Beyond my professional commitments, I am driven by a deep sense of purpose to make nutritional science accessible and applicable. My work has been featured in academic journals, media interviews, and community outreach programs, reflecting my dedication to knowledge dissemination. Fluent in Farsi and experienced in diverse cultural settings, I strive to bridge gaps in nutritional education across different populations.
