My name is Heather Petty. I have a Master of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts Management. I have over 8 years of experience in various settings including clinical, transplantation, and community nutrition. I started my career at Emory University as a clinical dietitian with an emphasis on heart disease, diabetes mellitus, kidney disease, and organ transplantation, just to name a few.
I believe in providing patient care that focuses on individual needs, understanding that no two clients are the same. I support clients with weight management, binge eating, cardiac health, kidney stones, and sports nutrition. I aim to dispel the myth of "good" and "bad" foods and ensure we recommend culturally appropriate meals filled with variety.
"I’m Heather Petty, and my approach as a registered dietitian focuses on understanding your unique needs and collaborating to create realistic strategies that align with your goals. I believe in a journey toward a healthier, happier life that allows for flexibility and enjoyment in your diet. Together, we’ll explore the foods you love while developing the skills necessary to make meaningful shifts in your eating patterns. Let’s embark on this journey together—come learn with me! "
