A Southern California native, Jen Nguyen (RDN, CDN, NASM-CPT) completed her Bachelor of Science in Food Administration with a concentration in Nutrition and Dietetics and minored in Hospitality Management from Cal State Long Beach. She moved to Rochester to complete her dietetic internship at Cornell University. She is a founding member of the Sweet Pea nutrition program. As a plant-based dietitian and current personal trainer for ten years, Jen pairs plant-based eating with physical activity. When someone is totally brand new to plant-based eating, we believe establishing structure is crucial. First, we would like to get to know you and understand your pain points, how you navigate your day-to-day, and evaluate how a dietitian can ease the food and nutrition piece of your life. Moreover, understanding what motivates you to eat more plants is equally important. Following your initial appointment, you’ll receive a detailed plan set forth by the dietitian you work with and we’ll check-in often to ensure everything is going well. Nutrition education is a key part of your success because our connection with food is important and our decisions regarding food are based on our experiences AND the information we know, so you will be armed with tools and resources to make whole food, plant-based eating sustainable. We love staying in touch with our clients, seeing them through the end, and will recommend follow-ups based on our initial evaluation.
