I am a Registered Dietitian currently helping clients with weight loss/weight gain, GI disorders/FODMAP diets, diabetes, menopause nutrition, food allergies/intolerances, and heart-healthy diets. My clients usually find my personal experience with dietary challenges relatable, as I am often able to empathize with clients in a way other RDs cannot.
Dietetics has been a lifelong interest of mine, the result of multiple personal food allergies/intolerances, as well as nutritionally related health issues suffered by close family members. After spending time in other careers, I returned to school as a non-traditional student to complete a Nutritional Science degree at Rutgers University. Since finishing school and passing the CDR exam, I have spent time working with clients of all ages (from infancy to the elderly) helping them improve their diets and better understand how nutrition impacts everyday health.
I moved across the country 8 years ago with my now husband, where we live near the beach with our rescue dog, who is a never-ending source of entertainment. In my spare time I enjoy walking, gardening, cooking, sewing, reading, and occasionally binge-watching TV series.
I do not believe that foods are inherently “bad” or “good” and encourage my clients to listen to their body’s needs and allow themselves to “make mistakes” as good nutrition – like everything in life - is not a zero-sum game. Trying to stick to a healthy diet 100% of the time is impossible, even for the most determined people. People can be healthy at all weights and sizes, and proper nutrition is a key component in being -and more importantly- feeling good.
