I’m Lara Clevenger, MSH, RDN, CPT a registered dietitian nutritionist, certified personal trainer, 5-time cookbook author, media dietitian, spokesperson, and writer in Edgewater, Florida.
Ever since college I have been obsessed with tinkering in the kitchen. I grew up a very picky eater, so I created a food blog LaraClevenger.com. My goal with cooking is to create healthy easy recipes with minimal ingredients that the whole family will love. The majority of my recipes are high in protein and lower in carbohydrates with an emphasis on whole foods.
Physical activity has been a foundation of my adulthood, whether it's weight lifting, hiking, walking or rollerblading. It's one of the main reasons I became a personal trainer in addition to being a dietitian so I could better understand the importance nutrition plays with physical performance.
As a media dietitian I've been interviewed by dozens of media outlets including NBC News, Women's Health, and SHAPE. In addition to my online nutrition presence, I also have 5 print cookbooks which are available at Barnes and Noble and online at Amazon.
I attended Florida State University and the University of North Florida for my CADE undergraduate degree in nutrition. I completed my Master’s degree in Science of Nutrition from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
Over the past 12 years as a dietitian, I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including Cardiovascular ICU, Out Patient Cancer Center, Hemodialysis Clinics, and Long Term Care Facilities.
Interesting tidbit about me, I’m a sponsored 10 pin bowler, and you can find me competing in professional and amateur bowling tournaments all across the country
