Lauren Steier, RDN, LDN, IFNCP is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and a credentialed Integrative and Functional Nutrition Practitioner. Lauren is passionate about nutrition because she feels it truly is the foundation to optimal health. She has extensive clinical nutrition and integrative and functional nutrition experience, which provides a more holistic and personalized approach to each person’s unique needs to maximize the potential for health. She provides functional medical nutrition therapy for diabetes or insulin resistance, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, liver disease and kidney disease, thyroid disorders, women’s health, and a variety of gut health issues like IBS, GERD, indigestion, etc. She also knows what key foods and nutrients can improve anxiety and depression from her extensive behavioral health background. Lauren also has experience with emotional and disordered eating that can co-occur with some mental health issues.
Prior to becoming a dietitian, she had a career in environmental science and focused on the health of our natural environment and subsequently the health of all people. This background, combined with her nutrition education, forms a well-rounded understanding of how food, nutrition, and our environment shape our overall health and well-being. She loves to cook and create new recipes for delicious and nutritious food, and enjoys teaching people these skills. She also enjoys listening to music and live bands, appreciating the outdoors, and striving to stay active and fit through hiking, Zumba/dancing, strength training, and yoga.
