Limore Kurtz Dooley, MA, RDN, CPT, CYI: Nutrition & Health Education Expert
Limore is a nutrition and health expert media consultant for NBC 7, CBS 2 and FOX 6 news, conducting regular television, radio and print magazine education segments on whole health awareness. Limore is a community leader and volunteer health educator for The American Heart Association, Harlem Children’s Zone and The New York City Rescue Mission where she works extensively with children, adolescents and adults in schools, hospitals and shelters hosting cooking demonstrations, and providing group and individual counseling on healthy eating, physical activity and diet related disease-state management. Limore’s clinical experience includes managing medical nutrition therapy and food service for Aramark and Sodexo, the global leaders in contract healthcare management, where she designed and developed plant based menus and prescribed therapeutic diets, including tube-feeds and intravenous feeds, for the critically ill. Limore’s areas of expertise include nutrition therapy for cancer treatment and prevention, diabetic diet education and healthy eating education for heart disease. She has spent considerable time in Australia and Israel learning multi-cultural food patterns and is well-versed in kosher dietary law. Limore was the senior dietitian and lead nutrition educator at Healthy Weight Medical Solutions within NYU Langone Medical Center and now runs a private practice. In this role she concentrates on early childhood nutrition and health education via sustainably sourced menu planning, child, parent and staff support yoga sessions, wellness education and work-life balance promotion for professional development and optimal health outcomes. Within this capacity, Limore has been providing nutrition and health support services throughout NYC, striving to cultivate well-being and mindful eating by integrating her understanding of biochemistry and nutritional science with human behavior and holistic healing modalities. Limore graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Nutrition from California Polytechnic State University and earned her Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition from Ball State in Indiana, where she completed an intensive Dietetic Internship. Today Limore is an active member of the American Dietetic Association and resides in Manhattan’s Central Harlem community, where you can often find her hiking in the North Woods of Central Park.
