Hello future client! I’m Lindsey Earl and I've provided nutrition counseling as an outpatient dietitian with the Baltimore VA hospital for nearly 10 years. My reward as a dietitian lies in connecting with and learning about you as a whole unique individual, and using that understanding to build meaningful habit change goals that align with your priorities. As we work together, I want you to feel more capable and empowered to make independent decisions about your nutrition.
What can you expect during your appointment? We’ll begin by gathering and clarifying information about your current habits and situation to have an excellent understanding of what we’re starting with. We’ll then identify and discuss reducing as many barriers to your success as possible; healthy nutrition routines should feel achievable. We’ll then learn about special nutrition recommendations for any health conditions we are treating, and discuss specific examples of how to implement these changes into your routine. I will always check in with you throughout this process for honest feedback on how you’re feeling, what your concerns are, and if you’re happy with the plan. You’ll leave each appointment with a clear list of goals, any education materials or tools to implement them, and a plan for if and when we will follow up.
Please see below for health conditions and nutrition philosophies I work with, and if you’d like to learn more about me please read on. I look forward to joining your team in support of your health goals!
About me: My dietitian journey started over 15 years ago when I wanted to be a beast at CrossFit, and I learned you actually need to eat enough (a lot!) of the right things to do that. Witnessing the positive changes to my athletic capabilities, body composition, and other physical and mental factors I had not even considered, my decision was made to pursue a career in nutrition. I completed my Master of Science in Dietetics through Eastern Michigan University, graduating with honors.
Although my story started in sports nutrition, I was privileged to land in outpatient nutrition counseling at my local VA hospital, which gifted me with one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Over 9 years working with veterans has given me the breadth of clinical experiences to be something of a generalist, and my passion lies in the patient-centered process of guiding habit changes and education, regardless of the condition we’re treating.
Working with veterans has also made me very passionate about making nutrition counseling accessible to everyone, especially those with fewer resources and more barriers. I’ve collaborated with VA management and providers on dozens of projects to improve quality and access to care for veterans, and am thrilled to team up with Fay to expand into the civilian community to improve access through insurance coverage.
When I’m not busy trying to save people from the jungle of nutrition information out there, you can find me listening to music too loud, taking a dance class, lifting weights in my basement, crafting, bantering with my husband, or buried in a blanket fort with my kindle and at least one of my two 60 lb pittie boys.
