Background

Hello and welcome! My name is Maddie and I have been a registered dietitian for 7 years. I am a Chicago native who just moved to Miami to step into a Director of Nutrition role at a major hospital. As a teenager who was overweight, and now an adult who has PCOS, I thrive to help individuals who want to improve their nutrition, increase their physical activity, and advocate for a healthier lifestyle.

After graduating with a Masters of Science in Clinical Nutrition, I decided to continue my research on insulin resistance and obtained my Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification. Prior to grad school, I received my Certified Personal Training certification, as physical activity is something that is very important to me. I have exceptional experience using Continuous Glucose Monitors to help not only manage blood sugar but identify patterns and food types/portions that are positively effective. I aim to help clients reduce risk factors for diabetes while still promoting quality of life. Additionally, I am a big advocate for heart health so anything avocado is a win in my book!

I enjoy menu writing and recipe content. I want to help my clients incorporate a robust variety of foods without having to worry about calorie counting or eliminating favorite foods.

I have two pugs, Snickers & Chino, who are the lights of my life. When I am not working, I am out and about being an extrovert, reading by the pool, traveling the WORLD, or exercising. Currently, I have found a new love for Pilates and am training to run the Miami Marathon.

Approach

"My approach to nutrition involves creativity, compromise, and empowerment. I want to help you modify your favorite foods to make them more nutritious but just as tasty. You don't lose by adding healthful nutrients, yet you gain energy, happiness, and overall well-being. Listening to my client's needs is my number one focus. What works for you may not work for someone else. Nutrition is extremely individualized and promoting longevity is very important to me as an RD!"
