Hello,
My name is Madison and I am a Registered Dietitian, chef, and a mom who is truly passionate about nutrition and food.
In an effort to pursue a career in nutrition, I attended Johnson & Wales University and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Culinary Nutrition. During my studies, I transitioned into courses that focused on improving the way people eat, including applied culinary nutrition, food science and athletic performance cuisine. In my last year, I had the opportunity to strengthen my skills through an advanced internship at the University of Alabama where I then got offered a full time position after graduation. I was a performance chef as well as a member of the Nutrition team with the D1 athletes at the University. I later filled this same role at the University of South Carolina. After those experiences, I decided to do my Dietetic Internship with Gulf Coast. During my internship, I experienced a variety of field work in different environments. I worked in long term care, I worked closely with a Dietitian who owned her own private practice, and I also was involved with an online health team. Currently, I am the Registered Dietitian for a School District in South Carolina and I am running my business Hopeful Healing LLC.
As far as my passions go, I love to be in the kitchen cooking with my family and making new recipes. I prefer to live an active lifestyle and enjoy at home workouts, walks outdoors, and hiking. I make a conscious effort to try to live by an intuitive eating and non-diet approach, but it has been a journey to get here. I struggled for many years with body image, food and fitness, and it is for these reasons that I wanted to start my practice, Hopeful Healing. My goal with this business is to provide a platform for those that want to start their healing journey with their body, food and exercise. This practice is a place for those who have a desire to begin their journey to healing and it is my job to help you make those small adjustments over time to change your life for the better! I truly believe that there is no “one size fits all” and I am here to help create individualized nutrition plans based on your specific needs. My educational, professional and personal experiences have helped me create Hopeful Healing, a space for all who are ready to start their journey to healing.
