My philosophy is one of empowerment. My approach to nutrition and fitness is to design individualized programs. My passion is to facilitate improvement or heal your relationship with food. I provide you with the “how to” knowledge and a supportive environment so you can take the steps necessary to achieve your goals. I have been successfully educating and coaching groups and individuals to meet their nutrition and fitness goals for the past 25+ years.
I hold an M.S. in Nutrition Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York and professional fitness certifications from Marymount Manhattan College. I also provided clinical medical nutrition services at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. I have provided nutrition counseling at the College of William and Mary Student Health Service and in private practice both in New York and Virginia. Previously I was a Nutrition Therapist at the Renfrew Center of New York and at Columbia University Medical School. I was also a Nutritionist with Cumberland Hospital specializing in eating disorders. Additionally, I was a Nutrition Adjunct Faculty member at South University in Richmond.
"Changing your eating or exercise habits can be challenging. We may need assistance getting organized or started. Successful people often perform their best because they had a mentor or a coach. I believe that the positive changes that you make in your daily life can have major benefits to your health, spirit, mind, and body. Iām there to remind you how great you are and how well you are doing. I believe in your success sometimes even more than you do!"
