I have worked as a Registered Dietitian for over 30 years and have achieved expertise in the areas of chronic health disease, gut health, and inflammation for conditions such as diabetes, obesity, autoimmune disease and food sensitivities. I have additional training or certifications in obesity, diabetes, functional medicine and food sensitivity.
When I work with clients we plan strategies for success together based on their goals. I make sure they leave each session with the tools to successfully reach their goals, but if goals are not met we regroup and change strategies as needed.
I love the field of nutrition and am fascinated by how food can greatly affect one's health. I took a nutrition class in college for my nursing cousework, fell in love with the field and never looked back. Later, my diagnosis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease and my quest to "heal" myself, pushed me out of my comfort zone and into the realms of gut health, inflammation and functional nutrition. This is how I got started in private practice.
In my free time I love to travel with my husband to various ski resorts and other interesting destinations. Other activities I like to do include reading, kayaking, running, biking, swimming and cooking. Weekly, I make my own yogurt, kombucha, red wine vinegar and fermented vegetables.
