I am Melinda Penny-Washington, a registered dietitian, diabetes and kidney disease specialist, and transformational leader dedicated to guiding individuals toward lasting health and balance. I combine ancient healing traditions with evidence-based nutrition therapy to empower people to reclaim their well-being through sustainable lifestyle changes.
My journey into the world of nutrition began as a patient. After years of debilitating gastrointestinal pain, I sought relief beyond just pharmaceuticals. Through nourishing foods, mindfulness, and the healing practices of cultures worldwide, I found true healing. This experience ignited my passion for holistic wellness and set me on a mission to help others achieve the same.
With a degree in Nutrition Science and Communications from California State University, Sacramento, clinical training at Stanford University Hospital, and post-graduate work at Iowa State University of Science and Technology, my formal education laid the foundation for my work. But my greatest lessons came from my travels, where I studied the healing traditions of diverse cultures and witnessed firsthand how food, movement, and mindfulness are deeply woven into the fabric of well-being.
In my work, I have seen how marketing and diet culture create confusion and barriers to true health. The constant stream of fad diets, quick-fix solutions, and unrealistic beauty standards disconnect us from the wisdom of our bodies and our cultural food traditions. I am passionate about helping people break free from these harmful narratives, reconnect with ancestral knowledge, and cultivate a balanced approach to wellness that aligns with their unique needs.
I understand the challenges of maintaining health in a fast-paced, productivity-driven society. That’s why I offer practical, time-honored solutions to help my clients restore balance and vitality—without restriction, guilt, or confusion. My approach is about real healing, rooted in wisdom, science, and the power of tradition.
