Hi, my name is Millicent Runnels and I am a registered dietitian who is passionate about helping others achieve their wellness goals while restoring a healthy relationship with food. I have a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, as well as a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition, and I've made it my mission to educate others on the importance of a balanced and nutrient-dense diet, allowing all foods in moderation and promoting the concept of food freedom.
As a ballet dancer in high school, I struggled with an eating disorder that compromised my relationship with food and resulted in the development of hormonal imbalances and food sensitivities. This time in my life led me to believe that I had to earn the food I ate. After I overcame my battle with an eating disorder, I decided to become a dietitian so I could be a light in a dark tunnel to others who struggle with unhealthy eating habits. I take a more holistic approach to nutrition and have a desire to counsel patients who are wanting to heal their relationship with food, use food as medicine for balancing hormones and managing food sensitivities, and create an overall more enjoyable lifestyle.
Outside of my professional pursuits, you can find me preparing allergen-free, hormone balancing meals and snacks, creating health and lifestyle content for social media, reading books, or playing the violin. Nutrition is a huge part of my life, and I love to share it with others in any way that I can!
Join me on this journey towards a mindset of freedom with food and using food as medicine to ultimately heal your body and maintain a fulfilling lifestyle.
