Navigating the world of food is exhausting; we are surrounded by a culture that values health, regardless of how it may be achieved. My hope for anyone is to navigate their life with a little more confidence in their attitudes towards food, rather than a worry of “Am I doing this right?”. Each day the body sends countless physical and mental signals, each with a message on how to better take care of ourselves. I think of these signals as a little string of smoke, and where there’s smoke there’s fire. In paying attention to your own fire signals, you are more equipped and informed in determining how to respond.
After struggling with an eating disorder as an adolescent and being a highly competitive athlete for the bulk of my life, I knew I wanted to take both my experiences and passions together and put them toward my future work. Following completing my education to become a dietitian, I have spent several years working at higher levels of care treating all forms of eating disorders. From working at a higher level of care, I understand the complexity that lives under disordered eating and want to help you both uncover those roots as well as move through them. Alternately, should you be striving to improve your athletic performance, I aim to guide athletes in utilizing nutrition to do so without also hindering their relationship with food.
I provide an individualized, evidence-based approach for each client depending on your concerns and goals. I work with clients through an Anti-Diet, HAES, and Intuitive Eating lens as well as utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including ACT, EFFT, and DBT. Whether you are looking to improve your relationship with food, body, and movement, or looking for general/sports nutrition counseling, I aim to work alongside you in achieving the goals that are most important to you instead of ones you feel pressured to hold with high value.
