Hello! My name is Nichell, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Food Science from Mississippi State University. After working in food safety and quality assurance for several years, my life took an unexpected turn when I had a child who was allergic to seven of the top nine allergens (wheat, eggs, fish, nuts, tree nuts, milk, and shellfish). This experience inspired and motivated me to pursue a career change, leading me to complete a Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics from Eastern Michigan University.
I have been a registered dietitian for over 13 years, with extensive experience working with pregnant mothers, infants, young children, and lactation. As a certified lactation counselor, I’ve helped many new mothers navigate the challenges of breastfeeding. I also have strong knowledge of general nutrition, particularly in strategies for lowering cholesterol levels and blood pressure. My Certificate of Training in Obesity for Pediatrics and Adults from the Commission on Dietetic Registration has equipped me with the tools to assist with weight loss strategies, including an understanding of GLP-1 medications. Additionally, I work with individuals who struggle with being underweight, helping them gain and maintain an appropriate weight.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and two boys, reading, and walking in our neighborhood.
