Meet Rich J. Kilchrist, RDN, LD – a true embodiment of discipline, health, and competitive spirit. From his early days in Lafayette, Louisiana, Rich was immersed in the world of competitive sports. As a child, he excelled in baseball, football, and track, but it was on the wrestling mat that he truly found his calling, eventually becoming the captain of his wrestling team. His early recognition of nutrition as a competitive edge was not just a strategy; it was a lifestyle that propelled him to success, setting the stage for his later achievements in competitive bodybuilding.
Rich’s story is one of remarkable balance and dedication. While serving his country honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Gulf War, earning multiple accolades including the Louisiana War Cross Citation, he also pursued his passion for nutrition and physical fitness named a Master of Fitness of the Army. He used his skills competing in bodybuilding, clinching titles at local, regional, and national levels, all while earning his Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
His academic journey didn’t stop there; Rich completed a Dietetic Internship at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, cementing his expertise in nutritional science. His career path reflects his diverse interests and profound commitment – from being an Oncology and Community Dietitian to managing nutrition across various healthcare settings, including pediatric, renal, and geriatric care.
Rich’s professional life is marked by significant achievements, like his role as System Clinical Nutrition Manager and his work with Morrison Management Specialist, where he oversaw nutrition programs in multiple facilities. His service extends beyond the military and medical fields; he has been a pivotal community figure, recognized as a role model for youth and a champion in bodybuilding competitions.
Through his virtual nutrition services at Arbor Vitae Nutrition Consulting, Rich brings the same competitive spirit, discipline, and knowledge to his clients. Combining his military precision, athletic prowess, and nutritional science, he offers personalized care through telehealth platforms, ensuring that your journey to health is as informed and effective as possible.

Kilchrist is here to transform your health narrative into one of victory and vitality. Join him, and let’s harness nutrition as your competitive edge towards a healthier, winning life.
