My road to becoming a Registered Dietitian was definitely not typical! While I have always been obsessed with all things health and wellness, I started my first career in Advertising Sales, which gave me tremendous experience but did not fulfill my desire to make an impact on others in a meaningful way. When I reflected on how a healthy, vibrant lifestyle centered on quality nutrition had transformed my own life, I knew I wanted to share the power of nutrition with those around me. I then embarked on a 6 year journey to fulfill the proper perquisite coursework for graduate school, gain experience in a wide range of dietetics environments, obtain my Master of Arts in Nutrition Science and Dietetics from Syracuse University – where I also completed my Dietetic Internship – and ultimately acquire my Registered Dietitian credential in 2021. I am proud to say I was able to turn my passion for health into a career where I get to fulfill my dreams of helping people transform their lives.
I feel incredibly lucky that I am able to use my experience and expertise to support the transformation of so many others. My ultimate goal is to empower my clients by teaching them not what, but how, to eat in order to achieve optimal energy, prevent chronic disease, improve digestion, protect cognitive function, and promote overall longevity and vitality — all by implementing habits that still allow eating to be enjoyable and sustainable.
My area of expertise is plant-based nutrition, but I certainly do not discriminate! I have worked with all different types of clients, including those with digestive disorders such as Celiac Disease and Diverticulitis, chronic yo-yo dieters who want to break free from the cycle and want to adopt a more balanced approach to nutrition, busy new moms looking to optimize nutrition for themselves and their families, constant “grazers” who need more structure and support with meal planning, and more. While I do believe that everyone can benefit from including more plant foods in their diet, I take a gentler approach to nutrition that emphasizes abundance by focusing on what foods we can ADD to the diet, not what we should remove. I believe that everyone deserves to live a life where wholesome, nutritious food is an enjoyable, accessible, peaceful, and nurturing part of their everyday reality. My ultimate goal is to help my clients find their own personal intersection of nutrition and joy.
When I am not talking all things nutrition, I teach Pure Barre fitness classes and love spending time with my family, my two rescue puppies, and my dear friends. I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, reading, and traveling. I also just started learning the piano!
