I am a Registered Dietitian with a broad and diverse background in nutrition, and my passion lies in helping people of all ages achieve better health through personalized, evidence-based nutrition care. As an intern, I have worked with a wide range of patients, providing tailored nutrition interventions in various areas including pediatric and adult diabetes, weight management, chronic disease management, and specialized care for both common and complex health conditions.
One of my core areas of experience is in managing both pediatric and adult diabetes. I have worked closely with individuals and their families to develop personalized strategies to help control blood sugar levels, optimize overall health, and prevent complications. I have also assisted many patients with weight management, offering customized nutrition plans for both children and adults looking to lose weight in a safe and sustainable way.
In addition to diabetes and weight management, I have worked with patients undergoing dialysis. I provided essential support to individuals with kidney disease, helping them navigate their dietary restrictions and ensuring they are meeting their nutritional needs. I have also worked in a long-term care setting, providing nutritional care for elderly individuals, supporting their health and well-being as they age.
Another passionate area of mine is supporting women during pregnancy and lactation. As a mother of 6 children, I understand the struggles that women face during pregnancy and lactation but I can provide guidance on optimal nutrition during these important life stages, ensuring both mother and baby receive the nutrients they need for a healthy pregnancy and successful breastfeeding experience. I also am knowledgeable in cardiac nutrition, helping patients manage heart disease through nutrition interventions aimed at improving heart health, controlling blood pressure, and lowering cholesterol.
I am a Certified LEAP Therapist, which means I am trained to help individuals manage food allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances. This is especially important for patients with conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and autoimmune conditions, where diet plays a crucial role in managing the disease and supporting digestive health.
In addition to my clinical expertise, I can help provide ideas for meal planning. I believe that everyone should enjoy nutritious meals, and I can help individuals and families navigate and develop meal plans that meet their unique needs. My approach is holistic, integrating both traditional and alternative nutrition practices to support overall health and well-being.
With every patient I work with, I focus on creating an individualized plan that supports their goals, promotes healing, and fosters long-term health. My mission as a dietitian is to provide the tools and support necessary for individuals to make lasting, positive changes in their lives. A famous quote that always resonates with me is “so when you wear out this body, then where are you going to live.” So let us work together to keep your body healthy for years to come!
