A session with me will involve getting to know your unique history and experiences (good, bad and ugly) with food and eating. We will discuss your future story (goals) and how they compare to your current story. Each session will end with actionable steps to work on in between meetings.
My areas of expertise include pediatrics, diabetes (type 1, 2, gestational and pre-diabetes), heart health, prenatal and postnatal nutrition and disordered eating/chronic dieting. Any health conditions your doctor has suggested weight loss for are things I can address, however weight loss is not the focus of our meetings, but rather health habits and relationship with food.
I have my Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with an emphasis in counseling. I have 9 years of experience as a dietitian in pediatrics, diabetes, lactation, heart health and lifestyle medicine. I'm a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist as well as a Certified Lactation Counselor.
In my free time I enjoy playing with my kids, hiking, gardening with native plants, reading, and trying new foods. My happy place is in the bath with a glass of something bubbly.
My mom, who has type 2 diabetes, was the reason I became a dietitian. I strive to decrease the blame and stigma associated with diabetes and other chronic diseases. I hope to work with clients to help them build sustainable routines and habits out of self love rather than self discipline.
