Jaeana Tooson, RD

Jaeana Tooson is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed Dietitian on a mission to level the playing field of achieving wellness through nutrition. While attending The University of Kentucky, Tooson felt a calling to serve the community in a practical and meaningful way – through the healing, comforting and connective power of faith and food. As a first-generation student, Tooson also had personal experience with the impacts of limited access to life-changing knowledge and education. These defining realizations shaped Tooson’s journey to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

Tooson graduated with a B.S. in Dietetics in the fall of 2019 and completed her dietetic internship the following semester, both at The University of Kentucky. Tooson began her dietetic internship during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic amid the difficulties of quarantine, a job layoff, and food insecurity all while pregnant with her first child. Tooson believes the setbacks of the pandemic meaningfully developed her perspective in life and enabled her to mature in her resilience, adaptability, and creativity.

Now, as a wife and mother of 3 children (plus 1 dog), Tooson understands that life can be full of unpredictable excitement and challenges that show up on the daily list of “to-do’s.” Tooson feels a deep sense of reward when her clients succeed and transform into a healthier and happier version of themselves using the power of faith and food. The fact that she can be a part of that transformation is a bonus. Tooson only asks of her clients that they bring their dedication and humble willingness to learn and grow.
